Don, I believe it depends where the lawsuit was filed. Hitachi would have to respond to a lawsuit filed in the U.S. under deadlines of the local jurisdiction. Non-compliance could cause injunctions to be put in place, along with other fines, which would have an effect on their ability to ship to the U.S., a fairly major market. Dave (who isn't a lawyer, but was a represent to a Y2K team for a major PC manufacturer and who learned more than he wanted to about legal trivia from hordes of lawyers who came to talk to us)
