Aus, Thanks. Question: Do all of the better cameras have a volatile/fast-memory buffer? (I assume that is what the "SRAM buffer" is).

second question: What is the design limit currently on number of read/writes to a card? I saw recently that the number used to be 100,000. However, I've also seen SNDK patents addressing this. (I'm thinking of the IBM microdrive as competition, since hard drives are supposed to have millions of read/writes possible).
