Going back to the original post, DELL had 3 product lines on the certification list - they happen to be the high volume commercial desktop products, which is where the bulk of the initial sales will probably be. My question was prompted by Jim Kelley's assertion that DELL could make some high profit workstation and server sales late in January.

In looking at the certification list, I found that DELL did not have any workstations, servers or laptops on the list, which I thought was strange. I did not think then (nor do I think now) that there was any likely revenue impact one way or another.

Interestingly enough, the list was expanded just today to include certification of the precision 420 workstation, 2 laptops, and a number of other products. Maybe they read this thread??? <GG>

More likely, they were in process on a number of certifications and are "tailoring the mix" to get the best coverage with the least back end cost (i.e. provide support for the volume products initially then add based on demand).
