Does Transmeta's chip really run at 700Mhz or does have equivalent performance of a 700Mhz Pentium? This is just a typical meaningless news release from Transmeta. If it runs at 700Mhz, I would like to know how does compare to a Pentium running its native code. Since it's doing real time instruction emulation, the performance can be application dependent. We will need to look at all of the major bench marks.

I am very troubled by Transmeta's purpose for releasing or leaking all these "news". Can we get something meaningful from them?
