"web appliance"

One thing comes to mind... haven't thought it through... on-the-fly software changes i.e. giving ISPs power to upload new software is key for applications loaded on web apps. However, not sure if this analogy applies to the processor since ISPs may not have reason to go beyond the application space, to the chip. If they do have a reason, then this could be an advantage. I haven't thought this through, I'll think about this later, but my initial reaction is similar to yours, however, the concept of potentially enabling on-the-fly ISP updates gives me some pause. However, Drew Peck's comment about INTC & AMd needing to worry big times do not seem to apply. I got to go now. MOre later, Amy J
