I think Rambus has a lot of challenges including this:

This is a frontal attack by the producers of 80% of non captive DRAM memory teamed with Intel to end round Rambus's IP.

Of course this is design by committee so who knows how long it will take. Then again legal battles rarely get resolved quickly.

To me it is not clear that Rambus will ever make it across the chasm and even if it did, I think their upside valuation is limited.

Definitely caveat emptor.
