You guys think it's still a war between IDC and Qualcomm when in fact they both have good offerings to present to the ITU. Do you actually think Nokia and ATT are foolish companies?

Jim, IDC claims they have IPR in all modes of 3G. This includes CDMA2000 and other Qualcomm technologies that Qualcomm contends do not need IDC IPR. While it's true that is not a war, just look forward to the time that IDC tries to get royalties from Qualcomm. I certainly wouldn't want to invest in a company whose plan was to try to sue Qualcomm for technological solutions that were primarily developed and implemented by Qualcomm (at a time that other experts were saying it was impossible). I'm not saying IDC can't win some kind of concession but to think it will make shareholders rich....well, that's a real stretch. In my opinion the risk/reward ratio is not favorable at all. An investment in IDC at these prices is a desperate move.

Investing isn't all rags to riches. Just how long do you think investors will hang around and wait for IDC revenues to materialize? Why aren't analysts willing to cover this company? When will the revenue stream become visible? If I ever invest in IDC, these questions will need answers. Even Qualcomm had five or six analysts covering them before the earnings went ballistic.

Successful investors know that protecting their capital is the number one priority. Why buy IDC now when the uncertainties are so great and the price looks to be headed back to the 20's or below?
