We've seen this article and also wondered about the fund's apparent lack of success. It could be that the strategy is better for individual investors, but we believe other factors must have played some role in the underperformance. We can only imagine that cash inflows and outflows (redemptions) may have been very erratic, and such circumstances may have caused the portfolio managers to take actions based on this outside influence. Where an individual doesn't have to predict or try to anticipate how much cash he might have to work with, funds (particularly small and/or new ones) have to deal with this volatility. How much this was a factor in this case, we really can't say...
