I have to say this. RE: CREE...is doesn't matter a whit what number of shares the institutions pile on. That has absolutely zero to do with that company's efforts to make bucks. Do not make any investment decision based on what they buy, because they can also sell it faster thn you can.
What counts is what the COMPANY does!

My 'gut' feel is that CREE and SiC hasn't entered the tornado yet.. We are instead gazing ahead and seeing the clouds (and the product possibilities for this material) starting to gather.

not certain how you judge a tornado.

cree is growing revenues
400% faster than...qcom.
300% faster than...gmst
200% faster than...emc
similar to ntap

i own all four.

>>I bet, if this is 'real', that some big players/institutions are snatching up shares by the fistful right now.. Wish I had a way of finding out such info.<<

Two ways to get some insights:

1. Get a subscription to IBD. They publish an accumulation/distribution rating on every stock every day. Stocks with an "A" rating are under accumulation by institutional investors.

2. Most charting services and some Internet charting sites provide graphs of "On Balance Volume" and/or "Money Flow". Read up on them. They give indications on what the big players are doing.

Also the percent of shares held by institutions is available in many places (such as the Market Guide site) - although it is never really up-to-date.
