that's quite possible. but consider that an awful lot of money has been positioned on the short side in the bond market. that could lead to an explosive short covering rally anytime. the Rydex bond ratio made another all-time high yesterday.

Steve, there was a big increase in open interest coming into this morning so short covering probably accounted for a good deal of the action. I would also expect that we got some asset allocation dough at the 6.75% level.
