Hi, Retta. Yes and No and Yes.
The institutions contact management who polls insiders who indicate to management various inclinations based on THEIR individual needs, tax strategies, divorce pending property settlements, children college tuition bills, favorite endowments for alma mater buildings getting named after them, etc...it is the way the institutional game is played...so that is the first yes.

Of course it has to be filed with the SEC but not prior to the delicate polling and negotiations, so that is the second response, which is "no."

Third Question:Yes, I was a pro at one time but not on the street side...but on the commodity side. Now I just play with my OWN money, don't manage a dime for another soul, just speak my experience now and again and do NOT give advice, which is why I got so tickled reading the response from the guy who gave me 50/50...I can get that at the corner bar on a dart game!!! Ahhhh, such personal finanical freedom such as is offered by the personal computers and early retirement.

Good luck as you continue to ask the right questions, hopefully to the right people. BTW...I don't own a single share of ELON yet...so I'm not even talking my position...I was just talking turkey to a cyberbuddy I've come to know and respect over the years.

All the best in 2000 and beyond!

Retta, I have a academician's option reference suggestion for you that might help further your understanding of how options expiration day calcs work against naked long positions in particular.

ELON's option WRITERS...those professionals and the independent savvy traders who take the opposite side of the naked long public option buyers did rather well for themselves managing to drop ELON 3 handles, that is to say, 55's, 50's and 45's in just a matter of basically 8 hours of disciplined focus on this "problem" of naked call buyers by the droves in their stock in several small groupings being various degrees of "right way" in their options by a combination of wild ass luck, Hail, Mary! passes, and outright unshakeable belief in their investment in some rare instances.

Let me know if you'd like to follow up on the proferred reference. You can PM if you'd like so that you can keep the suggestion and research and conclusion you might draw from it, creating a trader's edge for you personally, to yourself<vbg>
