MicroStrategy Kicks Off First Television Ad Campaign on Super Bowl Four Commercials During the Pre-Game and One in Fourth Quarter Will Show 'The Power of Intelligent E-Business(TM)'
VIENNA, Va., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroStrategy(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of Intelligent E-Business(TM) software, will launch its first national television advertising campaign on ABC's Super Bowl(R) broadcast on January 30, 2000. The commercials will demonstrate "The Power of Intelligent E-Business(TM)," or how MicroStrategy software can help organizations identify valuable information such as flight changes, fraud detection and stock shifts and then deliver it to customers via web, wireless and voice. A complementary print ad campaign was launched in December.
The two 30-second commercials were developed by MicroStrategy and a team of industry experts. They were co-directed by Ashley Beck and David Van Eyssen. The director of photography was Jeff Cronenworth, who recently served in this same position for the movie Fight Club. The producer was Beaucoup Chapeaux in Dallas, Texas. The advertising media was placed by McGarrah Jessee, an agency based in Austin, Texas. Four spots will run in the Super Bowl pre-game, with MicroStrategy sponsoring one half-hour segment, and one spot will run in the fourth quarter.
Two-page print ads will run through February in business and technology publications, including Business Week, Fortune, Forbes, The Industry Standard and Information Week. Single-page ads will run for the rest of the year. The first-released print ad shows an airport scene where a business traveler is rescued from a long line at the ticket counter because he was alerted of a delay and changed flights via his mobile phone.

Payne joined MicroStrategy last April and brings previous brand management experience from Coca-Cola, Royal Crown Company and Proctor & Gamble. Most recently, he was president and CEO of InteliData Telecommunications.
