I'm not mixing up anything, just quoting Mr. Moore. I mentioned the mass market.. Hypergrowth can be defined in terms of sales, earnings, market share etc, etc., all representing the end results of the adoption trend on a given company. The advantage of things like revenue growth is that they are something that can be measured whereas "adoption trends" can't be measured directly. Lacking numbers like sales you are limited to anecdotal evidence. The end point isn't exact, even the term "mass market" isn't defined in the book with any precision.
Despite this I gather that we come to the same conclusion- that CREE isn't a gorilla, but has potential.

We should focus on adoption trends rather than raw growth numbers to judge whether a tornado exists or not.

I agree. Another issue that is mentioned in the manual, though not highlighted, is that the consistently increasing rate of growth is an important symptom of a tornado.

That's just one often overlooked criterion. Determining the tornado is an art, not a science. It's a very subjective issue to reckon with.
