Dave,

I have no expertise in this area, but based on recent problems I discussed here with a sticky/jumpy cursor, and a connection I believe exists between that and PC-cillin, I'm wondering if you have PC-cillin installed. (I also have an ABIT BH6, and PC-cillin came with it.) I've also had strange sound problems correlated with my cursor problems.

I cleaned out PC-cillin, and have not had either problem since.

Dan

Do have the skipping problem when playing music CDs or is
it just when you're playing games?

I've recently started trying some games on the computer
and discovered this problem

The game, depending on its install options, can run off
the hard drive or the CD. It completely depends on how you
decide to set it up. I've run games both ways without any
problems. The one thing to keep in mind is you may notice
a speed diff. depending on which drive you finally choose
to go with based on its data transfer rate.

Is it common to do full installs of games or should they
work fine off the CD?

Just a guess in the dark...

I'm not a games person, but try this: Right click My Computer, select Properties, Performance tab and click Graphics button, and you'll get a slider for hardware acceleration. Reduce it from the maximum and see if things improve.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. I'm assuming you checked Device Manager and everything's OK in that department.
