Geoff, the black box I was referring to is the growth model where only numbers are looked at. Any turn in the numbers is meaningless without looking at what is driving the results. Investing by numbers is like looking out the back window of your car to drive, numbers are always old. Investors will never look at them in isolation. There are investors on the other hand that only look at the story of companies (like internets). Numbers are important to put some reality to the story but without understanding what is driving a companies' growth, they are meaningless. Hope that give an idea as to what I was referring to.
