Newbridge Networks Appoints Brian Keating as Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and Broadband Solutions MAIDENHEAD, England, Jan 20, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Newbridge Networks(R) (NYSE:NN)(TSE:NNC) today announced it has appointed Brian Keating to the position of executive vice president (EVP) of global marketing and broadband solutions. Newbridge Networks, which supplies the world's largest telecommunications operators with core switches to power their networks, is spearheading new solutions in the digital subscriber line (DSL) and wireless technology areas. Keating has successfully launched this approach in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMA) where he headed Newbridge Networks marketing and pioneered the company's 3dSL approach within the DSL market. The 3dSL solution enables incumbent telecommunications operators to use their existing copper infrastructure for the distribution of movies, digital TV and fast Internet access and thus fight the challenge of the cable companies head on. Pearse Flynn, president and COO of Newbridge Networks said, "Brian has played a key role in revitalizing Newbridge Networks in EMA where the company has recorded over 40% revenue growth in the past year. He was directly responsible for changing the company's marketing strategy in EMA and for Newbridge's high profile at recent events such as Telecom 99, Geneva." Brian Keating joined Newbridge Networks in July 1999 having worked previously for Global Knowledge Networks, the world's largest independent IT solutions provider where he held the position of managing director.
