This is a very sad day. You are an inspiration Blue, one of the few straight shooters and a true Technomage.

To All True Techriders,
Have been verklempt about this but i think i can write now.
Seems like my time here is up too, then. To pay more attention to some business other than internet stocks for awhile is what i've been needing to do anyway. Making money and having fun, that's what it's all about. If it ain't happening, it ain't worth it. Sharing valuable knowledge and the joy of life while privileged to participate.com in the greatest stock market of all time is what it's all about too. Our SI Techride has been a special board to attract such wonderful people of good heart and great smarts as it has. Perhaps it will now enter the realm of Legend to stop it before it fizzles or goes sour. We've worked hard and we've meant well, it's been real. My favorite way of contribution has been not just sharing some trading methods and picks that have met me with some success - but my best shot which is transforming the inherent dullness of the numbers, dry facts, and the stress of one's hard-earned money in the high-risk internet sector we're drawn to - into just plain absitively O-riginal FUN. Turning dullness into fun has always been a hobby of mine, couldn't stand it otherwise. Blue's good at that too. Like the rule usually is - the duller it is, the more money it pays. LOL Right?! You all have been an inspiration; life's such a blast.
Maybe Techride Is Over or Maybe Not or Not Yet - Only Time Will Tell. Would think most can sure grok how Blue feels, & want to assure Friends Who Are New that it has nothing to do with you. This goes back to before you got here and no one can get the whole 360 of it, not even Blue (we've been discussing this, as he said). There's some cosmic artistic stuff involved too, as always in a dramatic endeavor. Maybe that's really the problem; Techride started as a wholistic 360 and it continued that way for awhile and then the mystery gaps started happening and same/sames etc. So what else is new? In important ways, going really has nothing to do with anyone; simply omens & all points of the compass saying it might be a good time to mosey along is all.
So Thanks # 1st Of Course to Blue, truly from the bottom of my heart, for being the real cyber friend that you are to me right from the git-go we met. Hope we'uns never get out of touch ... natural pals. Blue, you've shown me how to understand the rhythms of the market along with methods of prediction to choose the right internet stocks at the right time - by sharing your hard-won knowledge of the discipline of valuations and unheard-of DD methods and indicators, etc. Have prospered as a result, so I Thank You & My Family Thanks U 2.
And To All, Thanks from Me and My Family. Your generous sharing of your stocksmarts has helped me prosper, and as your return i gave some FUN & directions to Stockstuff Doubleplusgood$ & 909s 2U2. If anyone thinks i didn't, or ESPECIALLY if anyone thinks Blue didn't, or come to think of it if anyone thinks anyone who ever came to this board didn't - then they haven't been paying attention to the magic that's happened around this board.
Techride has been a lucky name. Thanks for letting others borrow it, Blue.
Folks, It Ain't Over Til It's Over, that much i do know. What Blue said is Worth THINKING About, while observing 2C just what does or doesn't unfold.

Joan

Ah Techriders....what a grand time we've had...

me, the new kid on the block abut a year ago...We've laughed, cried, laughed again,
learned so many things, not only about stocks (thanks for the coattail pulls, everyone!!)
and the wiley ways of the market, but learned about ourselves. We've been to places
we didn't know were there..we've made new friends from all over the world.

Just some random thoughts as we leave, at least for now, this Techride club
house....Who knows, maybe it's time for a NEW CENTURY CLUBHOUSE....

So
thanks BLUE, Joan, and everyone for such a great time... Some things came to me
while I was thinking this morning....and I'd like to share...

First, I don't "do" Good Byes" either (people who know me know that is something
I've said for a long time) but rather ...."I'll see you later.... ", and we will, I know.

First thing....from when we were kids...

Make New Friends
But Keep the Old
One is Silver
One is Gold

Second...have no idea of why this came to my head today....Haven't heard it for many
years, but hearing Frankie Lain sing it was a joy many years ago....Listen....

Ghost Riders in the Sky

And Last.....as a genealogist by hobby...this is something a friend sent years ago, and it
is so true.... The VERY BEST To YOU ALL!!!

THE DASH

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning... to the end.
He noted that first came her date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years. (1900-1970)

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth...
And only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own;
The cars...the house... the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard...
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real,
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
And show our appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before
If we treat each other with respect.
And more often wear a smile...
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy's being read
With you life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

Now is a time I think I can post a farewell to Techride myself. Even though Blue and I had a "knock-down, drag-out" near the end of last year, I never have lost respect for the man. How can you disrespect someone that is a patriot, and not afraid to stand-up for what he believes is right? So, out of this respect for Blue, I obeyed his wishes and stayed away from Techride for these last few months. But now Blue has retired the board, so I can close this part of my SI experience.

I, like many of you, was personally invited by Blue after a seemingly superfluous response to a message he put up on the "Eating Crow" thread. A thread that in itself tells you something about the man Blue. I saw that board, and knew that the guy that started that was the kind of person that stood up for his beliefs. My response was just a link to crow recipe's <gg>, linked there so that those "eating crow" would have a choice in preparation. Just a joke really...but I guess Blue liked it. He liked it enough to invite me to become a part of Techride...which I found out later was quite the honor.

Once on Techride, I met people unlike any others. The people here knew how to make money, and knew how to have fun doing it. I struggled for the first few weeks here trying to learn as much as I could about stockpicking. If you saw my early posts, you'll see that I did a lot of taking, and very little giving. This wasn't because I was selfish, but merely because I was too unsure of myself to contribute in that manner. But as time went on, I felt more confident about suggesting stocks...and lucky me...I even made a few decent picks. I was (I thought) finally part of the Techride "family". Blue and I became what I thought was good friends over this period. Close enough that I felt that I could trust him with my home telephone number (something I *never* gave out to an SI member before). We exchanged numbers, and after this, spoke frequently. I thought our friendship was growing. But alas, people are different, and guys like Blue and I are stubborn. There was bound to be a disagreement at some point, and no matter who was "right" or who was "wrong", the casualty was our communication. Something I should have never let happen. So I left the Techride "family" that I had come to love.

Although I had other friends, and made other friends, I would still periodically look in to see what was going on. Techride was like that. There is a magic about it that you can't totally ignore. A part of me has been always curious about what was going on here.

I guess that's about all I have to say. Except "goodbye" to a special group, "goodbye" to the Techriders, and especially "goodbye" to Blue...I'm sorry we never got a chance to patch things up.

909's,
-Joe
