Re: Tax loss carry-forwards.

Consider the case of a new enterprise. Initially operating at a loss but they eventually turn this around and make a profit. Should they be obliged to pay taxes on the short term profit, or is it a better idea to allow them to pay tax on the profit only in excess of the combined loss.

Current tax policy favors the latter and encourages economic growth.

The risk-taking involved in the attempt to earn a profit is thus encouraged and not discouraged.

Just my view of the matter.
