It's only baffling because its explanation lies in the frontier of quantum optics. You readily accept WDM and other photon based technologies, yet you can't even begin to explain what a photon is. Why not apply the same criterion to SR. That is, is there a working model of what it does? There is. So the question becomes why are the major laboratories and think tanks ignoring this development? The answer is that they can't see how this invention can fit in our existing technological matrix and the inventor has poisoned the stream of information about it for reasons almost assuredly egomaniacal.
