Amy and Thread,

Today's WSJ has three articles about Intel, none I would call bullish.

On front page, "Portfolio Profits Boost Firms Bottom Line But Stir Controversy". Starts off "Happily tallying up your profits on the stock of Microsoft and Intel? They're nothing compared to what Microsoft and Intel are earning on their stock investments". Goes on to say that the market may be feeding on itself, with stock gains boosting earnings boosting stock gains, etc. Interesting article.

On page B 8, "Transmeta Unveils Chip Challenge to Intel"

Ob page B 10, AMD earnings - ...its Athlon microprocessor boosted revenue and helped it regain marketshare from rival Intel Corp.".

I'm continually amazed at the amount of bad press that Intel gets. When anything happens in technology anywhere in the world, somehow, it seems, it will be reported as bad news for Intel.
