Well-stated John. Let me offer this olive branch:

ORCL is the Gorilla of Enterprise RDBMS, but its Gorilladom does not extend to Departmental RDMBS, where it is fighting for its King's throne with the Prince of Departmental RDBMS (MSFT). MSFT is the Gorilla of small scale RDMBS.

Thus their is not a single RDBMS market. There are three: Enterprise, Departmental, Small scale.
