Michael, the intellectual property rights are a concern but I think you could get around that by building only parts of the total there so that the Chines couldn't come out and copy and sell the whole product, couldn't they? Intellectual property rights are a concern! But I suppose that once these become commodity products they would be copied offshore anyway and it is better to own a piece of the pie. It also gives one a potential foothold into these large markets. Some of the major telecom equipment suppliers have plants or joint ventures in the People's Republic I seem to recall. Does anyone know if these operations have been beneficial to their NA or European partners?
