MNI, I agree that a change from the daily routine, such as a vacation or visiting a place that you haven't seen before, can give you a fresh perspective and/or inspiration. I think this is important for very creative people, artists, musicians, writers, etc., who need a new spark, if you will, occasionally to motivate themselves. But, even in that case, after the person has been inspired, they may work almost non-stop to make the idea become a reality. The Spanish artist Dali and also Thomas Edison, for example, would take only 5 or 10 minute naps when they were on a project. So in that sense, hard work is still involved.
