John, Re: Intel Server Farms

Thank you for responding.

Is Intel allowing a choice of platform for those choosing to outsource to Intel, but for a limited time, with a requirement to migrate to Intel based solutions?

I know you said the answer is not as simple as the question, and I agree. My question wasn't whether or not there were "some Sun hardware in the Intel datacenters" but "What percentage of customers use Intel and Sun platforms in Intel's server farm at Santa Clara?"

I understand some customers might use all Intel hardware, some Intel and Sun (or other hardware) and, possibly, some ALL Sun or other hardware. I was trying to determine what exists now. I understand that Intel may not want this information to be public, for whatever reason.

I appreciate your summary, "In the end, I think Intel Online Services highest priority is to grow is (sic) customer base, and deliver the highest possible service."

Is it out of line to ask if your post comes from an individual who happens to work at Intel or an individual who works at Intel AND has some responsibility to respond to posts on this thread?

While I'm at it, I might as well ask about software <vbg>. Can you tell me what most customers of Intel Online Services are running in the Santa Clara datacenter?

I have been long INTC for the better part of a decade. Management's willingness to provide accurate information and guidance to shareholders is one reason I'm comfortable with a great deal of my assets in INTC.

It's great to watch Intel redefine/reinvent itself. I look forward to sharing in the rewards of those investments and risks!

Sincere thanks, dmf
