Frank,
Don't know what's going on but suddenly DELL is flying. I was watching ISLAND and the up trend went crazy. Don't know if the following release has anything to do with it.

Aveo's Attune Service Ships With Dell Consumer PC Lines

Dell Is First Major PC Maker to Include Aveo's Preemptive Tech Support

January 20, 2000 01:49 PM
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Aveo Inc., the leading developer of Web-based pre-emptive technical and customer support for personal computer users, today announced that Dell Computer Corporation DELL , the world's leading direct computer systems company, will embed Aveo's Attune(TM) Service in its consumer desktop and portable PC products. The Attune Service -- which helps PC owners avoid many problems before they occur -- will be included on select Dell Dimension(TM) desktop and Dell Inspiron(TM) notebook computers shipped in North America starting February 2, 2000. The move makes Dell the first major PC maker to include Aveo's proactive, pre-emptive technical support in its personal computers.
"We are pleased that Dell will be the first major PC maker to customize our popular Attune Service technology, and to recognize the cost-savings and customer service enhancements that this service will bring to millions of Dell personal computer users," said Paul Hurley, chief executive officer, Aveo Inc.

As part of the implementation, Dell is the only OEM that has dedicated a team of technical specialists to identify customer issues that can be addressed using Attune. This specially trained team will write and proactively issue information messages, called Intelligrams(TM), which are custom-tailored to these Dell systems and customers.

"Dell is committed to improve the overall PC experience and make technology easier for consumers." said Stephan Godevais, vice president and general manager of home and small business products, Dell Computer Corporation. "By embedding Aveo's Attune service in our products, we strengthen our leadership in delivering superior customer experience."

About the Attune Service

Aveo's Attune is a Web-based, pre-emptive technical and customer support service that alerts PC users to many potential PC issues -- such as bugs or configuration conflicts -- before the problem can adversely impact the computing experience or the computer.

How it works: Attune continuously and unobtrusively checks PC systems for possible problems and updates the user with new, relevant and timely information messages only where applicable. These messages, called Intelligrams(TM), provide the user with "plain English" solutions and corrective software.

Attune maintains the privacy of the end user by incorporating breakthrough double-filtering technology, which prevents Aveo or any other party from determining the user's identity or obtaining information about the user's system without the user's explicit permission.
