To All, Gateway stank the house out. EPS down 5% for an overpriced fluff stock that is supposed to grow earnings. Of course, only the business is bad. The spin is still good. If earnings grow negatively to zero, the stock can triple if they keep the spin going. <g>

IBM's SG&A mystery was not really a mystery. I forgot that, unlike Intel and Microsoft, they take gains on sales of subsidiaries directly in SG&A as a reduction in cost. Thus, the "better than expected" eps in a quarter that was otherwise a total disaster.
