OT, re WM, I'm short the financial sector right now. Their profits are completely dependent on the strength of the stock market and the economy, so their fundamentals look awesome now, but does anyone really believe this year is going to be as good as 1999? If not, then there's no reason for financial stocks to go up.

IMO, the financial crisis in Oct 98 was only an indirect result of the Asian crisis. I think the Asian crisis was just the trigger which caused the overvalued stock market to correct, and that 20% pullback was what caused the financial crisis. I think the next time the market corrects we'll see the same thing.

BWDIK?

o/t WM.
I think that the whole sector may be ripe for the picking. However, I could be early, and have been wrong in buying at higher prices. I own ONE, KEY (both considered dogs with fleas), purchased FBF yesterday. FBF peaked my interest with its diversification in the right places (Robertson Stephens, Suretrade, Quick & Reilly) and a very good earnings report. KEY FWIW two days ago upped the div., and announced a substantial share repurchase.
I may start an SI thread on the depressed financial services sector.
