PB, Re: I knwo you didn't address this to me, and I don't really know up to the date market stats, but...

Athlon prices are down. AMD indicates unsold inventory.

PIII prices are pretty much steady. Intel indicates backlog to be cleared by the end of Q1.

Now, I don't really know, but could it be that demand for PIII is good, and Athlon capacity is exceeding demand? Also,
Intel serves markets that AMD doesn't service. Of course the bad news about this is AMD may have to start a price war
to clear the decks. Yuck.

Appreciate your take, as always. On Athlon, I thought
it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, so how could it not be sold out?

PIII backlog to be cleared by end of quarter: maybe it is the greatest thing since sliced bread?

I blew it when someone asked my opinion on what INTC might do around AMD's quarter report. I said, with Niles in camp, nothing would touch it. Wrongo me, unless today was options expiration related. I know that Merrill Lynch was sniveling again today.
