Hmmmmm.... well, I guess given Mr Fun's comments it'll be interesting to see inventories.

If revenues dropped,
If receiveables dropped,
If margins dropped,
If (and we don't know this one yet) inventories dropped,

then LU is a smaller business then we had previously thought... and then we have to hope

expenses dropped, or
workforce reduction announcements

right???? what am I missing?

mr mcginn indicated they won't. keeps directing us to 2nd half. one should pay careful attention to all the data and judge whether there are better opportunities while waiting for lu to shape up. the people in charge, who made the decisions that led to all this, are still there. no one has more data on what's going on in telecom, fibre, etc. than the heads of lucent. one asks how they could not know what products their customers want. if they made the wrong decisions for the past 2 years, and passively watched their competition building and selling the right products, why should they do any better now? it's only we who got the bad news now - they've known they were wrong over a year ago.
