You seem to be sure about lot of things Gary.

Well....yes I am. I am pretty confident on this one.

As I recall, my only original point that started this discussion a month ago was in response to your assertion that bandwidth will become free and
therefore that all PTT/Carriers will wither away by either acquired or displaced by data players

Yes... at least you haven't accused me of changing my position... I was kinda waiting for that one.. but yes, I've been consistent about this....the only thing you've missed is that I also beleive that PTT/Carriers (as you put it) may also acquire services companies...but either way it happens PTT's/Carriers the way you define them will cease to exsist - they will one way or another be in the business of delivering services - not bandwidth.

we were talking about NT's strength in the Carrier/PTT market and
your assertion that this key market will literally dissappear taking NT down at the same time while Cisco becomes the top dog as it rides all
these ISP's and data players who will displace the old-world carriers.

Well, I did say that PTT's/Carriers would ceasse to exsist in the way you define them...but I don't believe I said that this change would "take NT down with them". I might have implied that the NT business is more exposed to a shift from traditional telephony networks than is CSCO.. this is simply because CSCO can be light on their feet not having to worry about transition problems. NT may do an excellent job with this transition but the point is that they have to go through this and manage this..... CSCO does not..that's probably a more accurate depiction of my position and also I believe what I attempted to say. I hope it's more clear now.

funny how you bring up Freeserve but fail to mention T's announcement which is far more significant. Nonetheless you are entitled to your old world beliefs - you are not alone there are many more like you out there.
