Johnnie,

Has anyone considered the possibility of Intel buying RMBS and provide the technology for free to all memory DRAM makers in consortium?

Interesting thought (not dumb at all), but they'd have to pony up about $2B at today's market cap to buy something that they'd turn around and give away. My guess is that they'd wait for now. Either RDRAM will succeed on its own and the consortium will not be able to displace them (and Intel wins), or they won't be and it would cost Intel a lot less to donate them to the consortium.

Just my own guess,

Dave

If, and I say If, the technology is as good as some are claiming it to be, and has so many applications, then I don't know how you would even begin to put a price tag on it. Perhaps we will see Rambus buying Intel, Samsung, DELL and a few others all at the same time.<VBG>
