i bought a few option contracts of uniphase last spring. now worth one half million dollars. it's a game now. was fired from my last job in 98 and since then have made more playing options than in my whole working lifetime.

i have about 3200 shares of dell. i still like michael dell. even though the stock is down from the high, it just got too high to begin with. not his fault.

if you want to go on margin that's ok. i do. but for every long position i take i buy a put on something that i think will go down, even in an up market. for example xerox, gillette, western digital, rite aid and fruit of the loom to name a few. that way i could even make money both ways and if market crashes i am holding some puts.

good luck.
