I should have phrased that differently, to state that about 28 of the 29 funds did not outperform the S&P 500 in the past five years. Many of them haven't been in existence for five years.

I have a friend/colleague who is letting some CFP manage his IRA. He's paying this guy 1%/year. In 1999 my friend broke even after the fee. Pathetic.
