Yes, I saw it and almost puked at that exact point. The most bizarre part is that the disclaimer includes Wong owns Incyte stock. So, Nadine's no dummy after all. -g-

Yes, as I've said before I'm sick of hearing about Celera...fine let's just sandbag for awhile.

If I were CRA, I would have started munching right away.

Remarkable how much kudos CRA and Venter get. They do have a fast technique, but they

1) Started 4 years to late
2) Non confimation of technique. INCY says the shot gun technique has up to 30% error rate in sequencing.
3) Have not moved up the food chain into gene expression, and SNP work. (INCY has done a good job here).

Frankly I am startled by the market cap that CRA commands. As I posted before I would not use CRA's market cap as a relative benchmark for valuing INCY.

Cheers,

P.S. We are now near 25 times this year's revenue number. Alex Brown has an EPS estimate of $.81 per share in 2003. Does anybody else remember the time value of money?

Yeah I saw it and I have to say that it belies the poor understanding of the author on the genomics business. What I thought was really amusing was how she only barely touched on INCY, including them as an "other biotech playing catch-up" and didn't even include them in her list of genomics companies. But the thing that is really funny is that the only one of these stocks that the author owns is INCY. Seems pretty clueless about the one stock in the group that she owns. INCY and HGSI invented the genomics database play. Celera is the one playing catch up. This reads like a Celera written PR piece. Of course that is one of the great things about the internet, anyone can write anything, whether they have a clue or not.
