After following Lundin Oil, its precursors, and the wildcatting companies that it partially finances, for a few years, I have come to see how shrewd the management is in limiting risk while at the same time remaining in a position to profit from successes. That is why I prefer to own stock in Lundin rather than in the wildcatting operations. But I would not be surprised to see Lundin Oil itself taken back to private ownership if that seemed in the best interests of management. I would agree with some of the contributors to the RSO thread as to the value that Lundin is getting by absorbing RSO.
