<<I did not make myself clear our export figures include service >>

As those Temp. Workers (listed as service workers) may well be working in the manufacturing industry & those products are often exported); service workers DO impact the export side.

BUT, there are SOME(few) telecommunication or IT workers that are NOT listed as "service" workers by job classification, rather, as "production, manufacturing, or management", though these seem to be teh exception rather than the rule, as is the case in the prior example.

Thousands of Mexicans Turned Back

Wednesday Oct. 3, 2001
MCALLEN, Texas -- Thousands of Mexicans who cross the border daily to shop or visit the United States are being refused entry because they don't have new identification cards, U.S. immigration officials said Tuesday.
Nearly 4,000 Mexicans were turned back Monday and early Tuesday because they had outdated crossing cards, called micas, not the new laser cards required after midnight Sunday. The newer, counterfeit-resistant cards carry a photo and a fingerprint of the border crosser.
