Kurt,

<<In summary, I read the recent EMC announcement about
a test kit for the Brocade product as a slam---not a big
boost. I guess the press release is in the eye of the
beholder. By Brocade refusing the get with the program
regarding sensible MIBs, they are costing EMC a ton
of money and lots of ire.>>

I agree with your view. I think when EMC first announced the fibre alliances, there were political reasons besides technical ones(such as Brocade was already in IBM's camp) that EMC excluded Brocade at the time. Since then, I believe EMC and Brocade would work together only on a need be basis. I wouldn't be surprised that Brocade even thumb their nose towards EMC while EMC is still the clear gorilla of the game. For EMC to come out to qualify Brocade's product is not saying EMC and Brocade now has a better working relationship. IMO the opposite is probably true because 'the mountain is coming to Mohammed here'. I would be ticked if I were EMC but I certainly want the business with IBM customers.
