It was a virtual short. I sold stock I had, I didn't borrow it. I also rebought in the aftermarket. If I get ever contacted about it, I'll deal with that at that time.

Thean..did you ever think that there are too many rules? You've now conviced me of it. I suspect that we all follow the rules to the best of our knowledge(s), but I personally don't have the book memorized, or even know it all.

If this is indeed a rule regarding IRA trading, I will check it out and be cognizant of this in the future. In fact, I would have done better buying it by waiting longer than I did.

If you have a pointer to this SEC rule, I'd like to see it. My CPA/CFP didn't specifically mention anything about SEC rules (I didn't ask), but accounting wise, he's right on regarding wash-sale rules for IRA's. There are none.

I'm in a batery play in VLNC. Its a breakout if it prints $23. Came close today but not enough volumn.
