Re: "Where was your rally ? We sort of missed it on the NYSE."

I was going to write some more AMD puts today but with AMD tanking I decided to wait a little while. I guess the market is digesting the fact that AMD can't find enough buyers for their Athlons and Intel's capacity is about to swamp the market. ASPs will drop and AMD will once again return to red ink. I consideration of our AMD friends I am happy that you guys have made some good money here and God knows you've waited patiently enough for it so you might think about taking some profits here because I don't think AMD will find a more perfect set of conditions then they did in Q4 and still they couldn't sell all the Athlons they made. What is the use of Dresden other than a big hole in the ground to throw money into?

Hi Paul:

Kinda rained on the parade...Maybe needed some cooling out...A short respite, so you better get some more as next time it crosses $40 may be its last!

Hmmm! I see AMD took Outel down with it! More role reversal, I guess!

Paul, you better get used to the role reversal...That ratio of INTC/AMD could get to 2.00 pretty quickly...(I must admit, I did think there was a possibility of achieving that ratio yesterday...definitely think it will happen in Q1)...

What do you think will occur first Paul... a ratio of 2:1 for INTC vs. AMD or a ratio of 3:1?

Hi Paul:

Something to think about as we begin the year 2000:

What we have in Q1 2000 is precisely the flip side of Q1 1999, only with roles reversed, with Outel now chasing AMD for microprocessor supremacy and as a result suffering similar-type production problems...A stripped down Athlon is about to give the Celeron a severe test in the low end and at the same time a beefed up Athlon will increase market share in the top end (i.e. PWeeIII cannot keep pace!) as well as make inroads into the server/workstation market segments, that last bastion of Outel's sacred territory in the microprocessor marketplace!

The Q4 $0.43 you just saw is just a fleeting glimpse of what you can expect in Y2000...Hey Paul, looks like AMD's 2000 eps will be greater than Outel's! What do you think the chances are of that occurring, huh Paul?
