ATHM vs. AOL stock performance early years.
With the high of $99 back in April I think we were right on track to parallel AOL's growth.
Ok so here's how the stock performance during those years compares.
AOL:
12/92 - .25
12/93 - .43 up .18 or 75%
12/94 - .87 up .44 or 101%
12/95 - 2.375 up $1.50 or 172%
high for the 3 year period 2.375 or 850% (also the growth for the 3 year period in
stock price)
now ATHM:
12/97 - 12.56
12/98 - 37.12 up $24.56 or 196%
12/99 - 42.875 up $5.75 or 15 1/2 %
High for 3 year period $99 or 688%
current stock growth rate 241%
AOL didn't face all the artificial nonsense that ATHM is experiencing.
The sub % rate is higher.
Even during that period AOL was on an open access basis, phone lines, and didn't
have the luxury of exclusivity for 2 1/2 more years. or until 6/1997
Still like what the sub numbers and stock numbers tell me. Like the comparison of
exclusivity vs. AOL's non exclusivity at the time.
The market will catch up to the facts.
I don't want to be out of this stock for one very good reason. It could pop at anytime.
Look at what it did in the week ending 4/30/99. You could miss this one at anytime.
