TRAC news: TRACK DATA ANNOUNCES PALM PILOT ACCESS TO ITS ONLINE TRADING SYSTEM NEW YORK-January 21, 1999-Track Data Corporation (Nasdaq NMS: TRAC) announced today that all Palm Pilot VII users can now access its myTrack online trading system. myTrack members can use their Palm VII devices to access quotes, place trades, and check positions. The Palm Pilot VII is a product of 3Com Corporation (Nasdaq: COMS). "The Palm Pilot VII has the extraordinary advantage of mobility," said Barry Hertz, Track Chairman and CEO. "Having a trading system that can be accessed by the Palm is a great service to our members. When they're at their PC, they can use myTrack's fully integrated trading screen with streaming real-time quotes and news to track their portfolio and place trades. When they're on the go, they can use their Palm Pilot VII to keep tabs on their portfolio and place a trade. All we need now is for 3Com to build a water-proof Palm so members can check their portfolios and trade in the shower." To access myTrack from a Palm VII, users can download the web clipping file at mytrack.com. Track Data first announced its intentions to build a system to allow wireless Internet access on December 31, 1999 and estimated the service would be available February 1, 2000. "We were so excited about the Palm Pilot development, we got the project done early," said Hertz. "Wireless Internet technology for online trading has only just begun and is projected to have wide acceptance by the investing community over the next few years. We also plan to interface with additional wireless devices in the near future."
