Emerald_Isle......".What on earth is the big kahuna?" According to popular surfing culture of the sixties (they did it on water in those days... no internet then) and the related summer teen movies released to capitalize on the popularity of surfing amongst young and hip............ the Big Kahuna was the King of the Surfers. He was the ultimate wave rider and knew all that was to be known about the Big Waves. The characters in those movies spent a great deal of time riding little waves that the magic of Hollywood made larger than life, falling in love in the most ridiculous fashion, dancing on sandy beaches, and waiting for the arrival of The Big Kahuna. Of course he never showed up. That would ruin everything for the movie studios and they certainly did not want that. I believe the purpose of this board is to be more successful in the search for the Big Waves. As for the Big Kahuna.............. who knows? If we stick around long enough he may show up from time to time. " was there a little kahuna also?" We are all little Kahuna's in a way I think. Gotta run. I think I just saw Frankie Avillon making a pass at my girlfriend. Stay out from under the waves Daddio.
