Sure, Neocon. You get to airily dismiss everybody's studies but the one particular one you agree with, because, well, the one you liked was a metastudy, and therefore superior by assertion. On the other hand, you apparently have a problem with the most elementary aspects of probability. Maybe you should stay away from Vegas.

A lot of folk lore about weather is pretty accurate. Around here if you have a wet spring the latter part of summer will be dry. Not always, but fairly often. Same with a hot summer will bring a cold winter and a mild summer will bring a mild winter.

Some of this is caused by El Nino and La Nina which set up fairly stable patterns for a year or more. Also shifts in the jet stream can set up pressure domes that seem to last forever.
