SITEK Incorporated Introduces the First of its Kind Magnetic Anneal Wafer Processing System The 910 Mag-Anneal System Provides Fast Batch Thermal Processing for The Rapidly Emerging Magnetic Random Access Memory (MRAM) Market TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- SITEK Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SITK), a provider of engineering and manufacturing solutions to the semiconductor industry, today announced the Model 910 Mag-Anneal System, the first lamp heated magnetic anneal system capable of processing up to twenty-five 200 mm wafers in a single batch. Competing systems are single wafer processing units that utilize a heated gas to bring the wafer to process temperature. The Model 910 System will achieve operating temperatures of 100 to 1100 degrees centigrade, and is fully computer automated allowing for temperature stability and repeatability in the range of plus or minus 0.5 degrees centigrade steady state. The 910 System rapidly heats and cools the silicon wafers in a precisely aligned transverse magnetic field. The magnet itself has a field strength of several thousand gauss. The magnetic field is aligned to within 1 degree with the surface of the silicon wafer, well within product requirements. The applications for the system include the pre-alignment of small magnetic "dipoles" within special thin film structures, which are part of a new generation of semiconductor devices. The small magnetic films are used to retain information in the chip logic or memory elements. Other applications include uses in devices such as micro-miniature biological sensors and new micro-motor devices. The 910 System also can be used for batch, fast thermal cycling in a number of semiconductor wafer processing steps, without the applied magnetic field. The 910 System was developed by VSM, a wholly owned subsidiary of SITEK. There are two 910 Systems currently in production at two large electronic firms in the Midwest. "The rapid thermal processing of magnetic and other films is an important and emerging field of semiconductor technology," said Kevin Jackson, President of VSM Corporation in Tempe. "The Model 910 is another proprietary development that positions SITEK for a leadership role in manufacturing semiconductor system supplies for the industry." VSM plans to have full customer demo capability for the Model 910 System at their Tempe operations this quarter.
