TDW - New Boats and Conference Call

Did anybody else listen to the TDW conference call (I believe that it is still available over the web if you go to www.tdw.com)? It was interesting. I got the impression that the analysts were looking for any opportunity to savage management - very unreasonable. On the other hand management gave the slighest impression that they were shooting from the hip on these new boats. I think that the analysts expected some 500 parameter model from Wharton Econometrics which showed that these boats were going to be profitable after 1.8943 years. The CEO basically told them to blow it out their ears - the O&G business just isn't that predictable.

My take. TDW is making a good move. It still has no debt, crushed earnings, paid yet another dividend (didn't miss one during the entire '98-'99 collapse). These weanie analysts are creating a nice buying opportunity for TDW longs.
