short-term investors cashing out. day traders buying on rumor (most likely split rumors for a quick pop) and selling on news. Look at VRSN as an example.

I've held this for 3 years, and the future looks brighter now than when I first bought it.

Good luck.

What caused the stock to sell off ? How about they aren't loosing money, have a high book value, business is booming, a real P/E etc. etc.

They should try taking all their cash and try burning it, the stock would pop to 1000 a share overnight.

Just the same I'm holding my shares for the long term, someday investors will figure out companies that make money are better than companies that loose it.
