AJ, only part of the history you linked agrees with those I am familiar with. The Northern and Southern Arapaho people were once united. The separation transpired as a two-pronged search for an abundant food supply. When the whites pushed westward, the separation was force to continue because of the wedge of troops in between them. That is the time they chose to become allied with the Northern, and Southern Cheyenne people. It is because of this alliance that they suffered such a great loss at Sandy Creek, which was aimed at the Cheyenne. As I said, many tribes were called pagan in error. Why this is a bone of contention with you, I do not know, because your posts indicated that you have reverted to paganism. BTW, long before a clan of the Southern Arapaho adopted the name of haqihana, it was their word for buffalo, an animal they respected very much because of the many provisions provided by the animal. --haqi
