<it's a loose/loose situation.> Yes, Jake; Clearly NOT what most want! In scanning the posts from today, it seems importantly obvious that: 1. Well , first of all, Freud would have a field day! . 2. Everyone acknowledges that Tim started this thread, helped many .people who were new, and at varying levels, with his ideas, .picks and guiding manner for those who wanted/needed it. In .addition, while certainly not perfect, Tim established a .feeling of caring and compassion, that was adopted by .everyone, which makes this thread truly unique. 3. Some people regularly on this thread are feeling insecure and .somewhat "lost" without Tim's recommendations and guidance. 4. Despite some temporary differences, one thing rings extremely .true: Everyone seems to feel that the basis of the camaraderie .on this thread, and the good and honest exchange .of ideas, are worth preserving and furthering. 5. I am completely confident that, personalities aside, .every more experienced person on this, and all .threads, is more than willing to honestly help others - by .giving resource info., B/S factors to consider, how to try to .climb-out of a problem stock with a profit, or minimizing .loss; and, how to develop your own skills. .Tim was unique in "feeding" picks to those of you who wanted .him to make the decisions for you. It appears you've recently .done quite well, a compliment to Tim. When his private site is .ready and you are here and there, you may decide to return to .investing and trading in that manner. That is your choice, and .if it works for you. There will not be anyone else I can .think of who will do the same thing for you. If you do .not want to, or can't, spend the considerable necessary time .that is required to seriously "do your own DD," IMO, you should .closely re-examine your objectives and the wisdom of .deciding to be "self-directed." 6. Not to be divisive at this point; but for clarification, no one .owns a thread, which is difficult for some people to ."see." It is similar in that sense to a non-profit corpora- .tion - one person, or a few people, may have given birth to .it and nurtured it; but it is an entity unto itself. 7. The future, focus and direction of this thread will be deter- .mined by the primary posters at any given time. Differing .opinions regarding stocks and methodology are, IMO, very .helpful in making fully informed decisions. Differing .opinions regarding propriety should be resolved quickly .and not belabored. . ......THE THREAD IS IN YOUR HANDS . . Sincerely, Carol
