I don't see a news release yet, but if Amazon's raising more cash, they must have a pending need for it. I doubt they
burned through an appreciable fraction of their $850M in three months. Any ideas?

I do know that amzn has changed their investment strategy significantly in the past 9 mos or so (or maybe year)... at one point they were investing heavily in drugsore.com, pets.com and almost any tier-1 company in any vertical with an incentive to bring everybody into the amzn fold. Now they aren't doing that anymore... why - I don't know, but Amzn is no longer considered as an easy partner for aspiring dot coms.
