>> Why come to SD if IDC needs them? What kind of question is that?

I don't know Gus - I didn't ask it!
Read my post again (a bit more carefully this time)

>> Why come to SD if IDC is so crucial to them?

Let me reword thais vague question....

Why did NOK set up shop in San Diego, if
the relationship with IDC (in King of Prussia ) is so vital.

Gus - you now leap off into a tirade about QCOM.
My original question concerned NOK's relationship with IDC (which Jim answered in part). Not QCOM!

In the meantime, you haven't answered my point that IDC's revenues fell last year.

Oh - before you accuse me of doing the same....

the smartest companies in the
industry have GSM/TDMA and CDMA products. The obvious exception is QCOM ...

Well maybe not much longer. Jacobs was clear that he wants QCOM to move in that direction and they hace talked with IBM (failed) and Seimens (ongoing) to find an entry point.

A real winner would be a 'phone that supports CDMA/TDMA and GSM.
No-one has such a product, but QCOM is clearly trying to go that way.
